GULLS GASH SILVER KNIGHTS, 7-4

The Silver Knights lost to the San Diego Gulls, 7-4, on Wednesday night at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, CA.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

San Diego took a 1-0 lead just 90-seconds into the contest on a goal from Justin Bailey. At the 8:51 mark of the period, Ryan Carpenter would make it 2-0 for the Gulls. Mitch McLain would then cut the Gulls lead in half, 2-1, deflecting a Raphael Lavoie shot on the power play. In the early stages of the second, Yegor Sidorov gave San Diego a 3-1 lead. 52-seconds later, Tuomas Uronen would make it a one-goal game once again. Soon after Sahsa Pastujov would make it a two-goal game for the gulls once again. Dylan Coghlan made it 4-3 with a blast from Jordan Gustafson, his first AHL point. 46-seconds later, Lavoie would tie the game at 4-4. Early into the final frame San Diego’s Matthew Phillips retook the lead, 5-4. Exactly halfway through the third at the 10:00 mark, Roland McKeown would give the Gulls their second two-goal lead of the game. In the latter stages of the game, Noah Warren would be credited with an empty-net goal to make the final score 7-4.

The Silver Knights will now return to Henderson for a weekend series with the Coachella Valley Firebirds on February 6 and 7. The team will then be on the AHL All-Star break until February 14 when they head to San Jose to play the Barracuda for the first time this season.
