The Henderson Silver Knights fell, 2-1, in overtime to the Abbotsford Canucks in their season opener at Lee’s Family Forum Saturday night.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
After a scoreless opening period, Abbotsford’s Ben Berard scored the first goal of the season for the Canucks eight minutes into the middle frame. With the goalie pulled late in the third period, Tanner Laczynski netted the equalizer, sending the game to overtime. 53 seconds into overtime, the Canucks’ Max Sesson scored the game-winning goal, securing the 2-1 win.
