The Henderson Silver Knights fell, 6-3, to the Texas Stars on Saturday night at Lee’s Family Forum.
How it went down
Stars’ Jérémie Poirier found the back of the net first to give Texas an early lead in the opening frame. Henderson’s Kai Uchaz scored a power-play goal to pull the Silver Knights even off a pass from Mitch McLain. Alexander Holtz kept the Silver Knights’ momentum rolling with another goal to give Henderson their first lead of the contest midway through the first. The Stars’ Matthew Seminoff responded with a power play goal in the final minute of the first period to close the first frame 2-2.
Artem Shlaine scored the Stars third goal of the game 10 seconds into the second frame. Jack Becker tallied the Stars’ fourth goal to close out the second period at 4-2.
Henderson’s Tanner Laczynski brought the team within one off a feed from Brandon Hickey and Raphael Lavoie. Hughes and Vladislav Kolyachonok netted two empty-net goals to defeat Henderson 6-3.
