Jersey Art Contest!
The Henderson Silver Knights are excited to team up with Clark County School District for the second year to recognize local student artists through our Jersey Design Contest. This season’s initiative provided students a unique opportunity to compete in a week-long art contest where they submitted a full jersey design of their own creation inspired by the cause to bring awareness to the fight against Childhood Cancer. The student whose art is selected will have their design displayed on the Henderson Silver Knights’ official player jerseys. The team will wear these jerseys during the Cancer Awareness Game presented by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson.
Jersey Inspiration: The students’ inspiration for the jersey design leans into the Henderson Silver Knights’ brand and the team’s support for the fight against cancer including the annual Cancer Awareness game. This season the team will be bringing awareness to one of the toughest fights, the fight against childhood cancer. The color gold is the international representation for Childhood Cancer Awareness and a symbol for the childhood cancer journey. Gold goes through a refining process by fire, to become stronger and tougher. Kids with childhood cancer similarly undergo such an experience. They often develop resiliency by facing all the difficult and painful challenges of childhood cancer. In addition to the gold ribbon, the butterfly is a symbol of transformation and rebirth for those who have been affected by cancer and represents new life and hope after a difficult period.”
