2023-24 SEASON SERIES
The Silver Knights finished the previous season 5-3-0 against the Barracuda with a 3-1-0 record at home. Forward Mason Morelli leads the Silver Knights in goals against San Jose, tallying eight points (5G, 3A) in eight games. Morelli also scored his first NHL goal against the Barracuda’s NHL affiliate, the San Jose Sharks, in his NHL debut on February 19, 2024.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
The Barracuda currently stand second in the Pacific Division with a 3-1-0 record, although they have two games in hand on the first-place Calgary Wranglers. Rookies Filip Bystedt and Donavan Houle lead San Jose in scoring, both with five points (2G, 3A) in four games. Goaltender Yaroslav Askarov is 2-0-0 to start the season for the Barracuda, earning shutouts in both of his victories. Askarov, then with the Admirals, faced the Silver Knights three times in 2023-24. He held a 3-0-0 record against Henderson, including two shutouts.
KEYS TO THE GAME
Lazer Focus: Tanner Laczynski’s three-game points streak to start the season was snapped on Saturday, but he still leads the HSK scoring attack with five points through the team’s first four games. Laczynski has registered 11 shots on goal through the season’s first four games.
Burke Doing Work: Cal Burke scored his first goal as a Silver Knight Friday vs the Wranglers, and he has notched four points in four games. Burke has
totaled five goals and 15 points in 18 career games against the Barracuda.
