REIGN RALLY PAST SILVER KNIGHTS, 3-2, IN SHOOTOUT

The Silver Knights fell 3-2 in the shootout to the Ontario Reign on Tuesday night at Lee’s Family Forum.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

Early into the contest, Mitch McLain buried a rebound in the crease to put Henderson up 1-0. Following 33 minutes of scoreless hockey, Ontario’s Taylor Ward tied the game for the Reign. The tie only lasted 90 seconds as Ben Hemmerling would give the lead right back to the Henderson. With the goalie pulled, Andre Lee tied the game, 2-2, with 20 seconds remaining in the game. Following a scoreless overtime period, the Reign’s Cole Guttman was the only skater for either side to score in the shootout to claim the victory for Ontario.

LOOKING AHEAD

Next weekend the Colorado Eagles will make their first trip to Henderson on Saturday, January 3 when the Silver Knights will be celebrating Military Appreciation Knight. The first 1,500 fans will get a Lucky Shilling courtesy of Sunshine Minting, and the first 3,000 will get a Silver Knights wall flag. The teams will wrap up the weekend series on Sunday, January 4 when Henderson celebrates Kids Day. The first 1,500 kids in attendance will receive a cereal bowl and spoon set courtesy of Nevada Dairy Council.
