Dylan Sikura’s game winning goal in the second period led to the Henderson Silver Knights defeating the Ontario Reign, 5-2, on Saturday night at Orleans Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Daniel Brickely opened up the scoring late in the first period when he shot one past Logan Thompson, giving Ontario the 1-0 lead. Quinton Byfield got the secondary assist on Brickely’s goal, giving the 2020 second-overall pick his first point of the season. Jake Leschyshyn kicked off a high-scoring second period with the first goal in Silver Knights history at 1:41 to tie the game 1-1. Less than a minute after, Rasmus Kupari would take back the lead for Ontario 2-1. A pair of goals from Jake Bischoff and Dylan Sikura would help Henderson gain a 3-2 lead going into the third period. Danny O’Regan scored the only two goals of the third period which sealed Henderson’s first victory in franchise history 5-2.
